Not submitted due to product limit

Time to clear: Immediately once the count drops below the limit, or when a quota increase is approvedPublished

Your account holds more products than its quota allows, so everything beyond the limit is rejected until you trim the catalog or get the quota raised.

What this error means

Every Merchant Center account has a quota for how many products it can hold, 150,000 by default for a standard account. Once the account is full, additional products are not processed at all. They are not disapproved on quality grounds, they are simply never submitted, and this error marks them.

Why it happens

Catalogs grow past the limit in ways that are easy to miss. Every variant counts as a product, so a garment in 6 sizes and 5 colors is 30 products, not one. Multiple target countries multiply the count again. Feeds also accumulate dead weight: discontinued products that were never removed, out-of-stock items kept "just in case", and duplicates from overlapping feeds all consume quota that your sellable catalog needs.

How to fix it

  1. Check your product count against the quota in Merchant Center to see how far over you are.
  2. Cut what does not sell: exclude discontinued items, long-term out-of-stock products, and duplicates coming from overlapping feeds.
  3. Reconsider variant depth. If size variants share a page, a price, and an image, submitting one representative variant per color can shrink the feed dramatically.
  4. If the remaining catalog still exceeds the quota, request an increase with Google. Approval depends on a healthy account, so a low disapproval rate and no policy issues matter here.
  5. Prioritize while you wait: make sure your best sellers are inside the limit by excluding low-value items first.

Fixing it in your store

Add an exclusion rule in your feed tool so products that cannot sell never reach the feed: discontinued, zero stock for more than some number of weeks, or archived in the store. That keeps quota consumption proportional to the catalog you actually want to advertise, and it usually improves overall feed quality as a side effect.

How long until it clears

There is no review to wait for. As soon as the product count is below the quota, the rejected items are processed at the next feed upload. A quota increase request takes as long as Google's review of it.
