Invalid value [availability]
The availability attribute contains a value Google does not recognize, such as 'pending' or a translated word, instead of one of the four allowed values.
What this error means
Google only accepts four values in the availability attribute: in_stock, out_of_stock, preorder, and backorder. Your feed sent something else, so Google cannot tell whether the product can be bought and disapproves it.
Why it happens
Store platforms track stock in more states than Google accepts. Values like "pending", "available soon", "limited", "sold out", or a number of units all fail, and so do translations like "op voorraad" or "auf Lager", because Google wants the exact English values. The usual source is a feed that passes the store's raw stock status through instead of mapping it, or a custom stock label a plugin added.
How to fix it
- Look at the exact value your feed sends in
availabilityfor the affected products. - Map every stock state your store uses onto one of the four allowed values:
in_stock,out_of_stock,preorder, orbackorder. - Use
preorderonly when the product has a release date, and send that date inavailability_date. - Do not send stock counts, custom labels, or translated words in this attribute, whatever language your store runs in.
- Resubmit the feed.
Fixing it in your store
Set up a mapping rule in your feed tool that converts the store's stock status to Google's values, for example "everything above zero stock becomes in_stock, everything else becomes out_of_stock". Once that rule exists, new custom stock states in the store can no longer break the feed, because everything funnels through the mapping.
How long until it clears
Expect 1 to 3 days after the corrected feed reaches Google.

Missing value [availability]
The availability attribute is missing, so Google does not know whether the product can be bought and disapproves it.
Mismatched value (page crawl): availability
The availability in your feed does not match the availability Google found on your product page, so the product is disapproved.
Automatic item updates: availability
Google found a different stock status on your product page than in your feed and corrected it automatically, which usually means your feed lags behind your real inventory.
Still disapproved?
