Invalid value [sale price]
The sale price you submitted is not valid, usually because it is zero or negative, or formatted in a way Google cannot read.
What this error means
The sale_price attribute holds the discounted price of a product. When the value is not valid, Google cannot show the sale and disapproves the item. This is separate from the regular price attribute, which stays the reference price.
Why it happens
A sale price is rejected when it is zero or negative, since products must be priced above zero. It also fails when it is formatted wrong in the same ways a regular price can be, such as a currency symbol or a comma decimal. Two related but separate cases are worth knowing: a sale price that is not genuinely lower than the regular price may simply not be treated as a sale promotion rather than causing this error, and a sale price that does not match the landing page causes a price mismatch instead.
How to fix it
- Make sure the sale price is a value above zero. For it to show as a sale, also keep it genuinely lower than the regular
price. - Format it as a plain number with a dot decimal and the correct currency, with no symbol.
- Keep the sale price and its currency the same as what the landing page shows.
- If a product is not actually on sale, remove the
sale_pricerather than setting it equal to or above the price. - Update the feed and wait for re-crawl.
Fixing it in your store
Sale prices usually come from a discount or promotion field in your store. This error often means the feed is exporting a sale price of zero for products with no active discount, or a value that no longer matches the live sale. Map the feed's sale_price only to products with a real, active discount, and make sure it clears when the sale ends so it does not linger below or above the regular price.
How long until it clears
Once the sale price is valid and re-crawled, expect the product to qualify within 1 to 3 days.
